A US district judge, refusing to buy the wait and see if it really hurts argument.
“Moreover, the First Amendment does not require citizens to accept assurances from the government that, if the government later determines it has made a misstep, it will take ameliorative action,” he continued. “There is no, ‘Trust us, changes are coming’ clause in the Constitution.”
Maybe that's what the constitution needs! A "trust us" clause!

Proposed 28th amendment:

Citizens must
henceforward trust
that their government's actions are just.

How about: All holders of public office shall be required to explain why the Second Amendment was passed.

Hint, it's not about shooting crooks, though that's a nice extra.

Since they are sworn to uphold the Constitution, I think having them answer a few well-chosen questions is a fine idea.

It seems many existing amendments are ignored,
So will one more catch the attention of the court?

I'm hoping they will pay special attention to this one, since they, too, like to be trusted.
