I believe that Saving probably gave you a better idea of what it was like to be an infantry soldier getting shot at. But Longest gives you a much better idea of what the hell was going on. It's the difference between the long view and the close-up view of being pinned down on a beach.

Speaking of appeasement, I'm worried about the Spanish electing the socialists. I understand it's not as simple as appeasement. The conservative party is said to have purposefully pointed at the Basque ETA when the evidence really pointed to Islamic terrorists.
I don't suppose the Spanish had a very important role in Iraq militarily, so the removal of Spanish troops from Iraq is strictly of political and symbolic impact.
The more serious issue has to do with letting terrorists help determine the outcome of your elections. If they think they can do that, they will try to do it again. And now how do you get rid of them?
