Free State Project

Tim Bauman, a very well-spoken advocate for the Free State Project, talked at our house tonight at one of our NIF meetings. The idea of the project is for 20 thousand liberty-minded activists to move to New Hampshire with the purpose of moving the state's politics in a strongly pro-freedom direction.

It's an interesting way of trying to use our federalist system to have an impact. I suppose if you started electing real liberty lovers in NH, it would make a mark. Even the smallest states get 2 US senators, and 2 senators can raise quite a ruckus.

Plus, the slogan on NH license plates is the best: Live Free Or Die.

Rhyme of the day:

I'm tempted to move
and the reason why
is that I just love
"Live Free Or Die"

Of course, on the whole, I prefer the Live Free part to the Die part.
