Another Indiana 5k [corrected]

Yes, for the second Saturday in a row I ran in an Indiana 5 kilometer race (5k), which is 3.1 miles in English measurements. Once again I came in 3rd in my age group. The same 2 guys beat me as before. But I had a pretty fast race for me. As a matter of fact, if I had been 5 seconds faster, it would have tied my personal record (P.R.) for the 5k set in 1996. I could just kick myself. I probably could have squeezed out some more speed in the last mile if I had known how close I was to a new personal best.

I did run pretty hard. I just need to run harder. I think I can, I think I can.

Atrocious rhyme of the day:

If I can pick up just five seconds,
That's a new P.R., I reckons.

You can see my results at:

Note: I had to correct this entry. I first posted it saying I was only 15 seconds from tying my personal record. Upon doublechecking, I realized I was only 5 seconds off!
