Late flight
It's 3:19 a.m. I'm still awake. That's because some friends of ours from Phoenix, who were supposed to arrive at O'Hare airport at 5:30p.m., actually arrived around 2 a.m.
I think the worst part, for them, was that their plane got diverted to St. Louis.
The problem was the weather around here. We had something called horizontal lightning happening here. I saw it. I don't remember ever seeing it before. They were bolts of lightning that moved sideways, rather than up or down. My guest from Phoenix tells me it's a rare occurrence, indicating extreme turbulence.
I guess I should be glad they made it here safely.
Rhyme of the day:
The lightning moved from side to side,
Our travelers had a long, long ride.
