Voting for a Loser

Well, I've decided there are some advantages in voting for a losing presidential candidate. I will always be able to say stuff like, "Well, I didn't vote for him!" when the President does something perfidious or otherwise uncool.

I don't know who won yet as I post this. But I know I voted for a loser, because I voted for Boris Badenov, err, that's not quite his name, but he's the guy from the Libertarian Party. I voted for the Libertarian for our open Senate seat too. Yes, I had to hold my nose, big time. But Illinois is a solid Blue state this year, and the Republicans here are in total disarray, and I want them to think twice before running someone like Alan Keyes again. Keyes' big issue was the Fetal Right To Life. Oh, and Homosexuality Is A Selfish Choice. Let's not forget that one!

Perhaps I'm being too clever by half, imagining my tiny symbolic vote as making a difference. But, it does make a difference, of course. A difference of one.

Rhyme of the Day:

I'm happy that my vote
Entitles me to gloat,
Unless Badnarik somehow wins -
Then I'll repent of my sin.
